How it all began

Cindy and Jérémie Pulinx

The people behind Waterloo — The Musical, Cindy and Jérémie Pulinx share a desire to bring history and musical theatre enthusiasts together around an adventure filled with love, friendship and humour.

From Brussels to Scotland, conservatoire musicians, artists and enthusiasts bring their talents and experience together with a shared ambition: to bring a story to the stage that moves people, makes them smile and brings them together.

Artistic collaborations

Talents brought together around the show

Waterloo is taking shape through encounters and collaborations with artists and musicians, including graduates of conservatoires in Belgium and Scotland. Their experience enriches the musical and artistic development of the show, from the scores to the first ideas for the stage.

The bagpipes, a voice in their own right

Alistair’s instrument, the bagpipes will play an important part in the musical. They will express his Scottish identity and accompany some of the most moving moments in his story.

To bring this instrument fully to life, we have called on a Scottish piper who graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and whose playing features in the soundtrack of Disney-Pixar’s Brave. This collaboration focuses on adapting and recording part of the show’s music.

From songs to the stage

We are also preparing artistic support with musical theatre professionals to develop the transition from script to stage: the performances, the pace of the show and the way its songs carry the story forward.
